Belmont is a diverse community where every homeowner can choose the way they want to maintain their front or back yard. This new proposal will snatch that freedom and make every front yard a cookie-cutter rendering of contractor’s idea. Some of the residents really love working on their yard. This is a great way for relaxation to them. This is their hobby. But the new rule will prevent them from relaxing. The HOA would say that those who want to maintain their yard can still do but they will have to still pay the monthly assessment. We’ll follow that advice, if this assessment would be redone using a democratic and fair approach.

Also, this assessment may not be affordable to everyone. 18% monthly increase assessment is not a large amount for a few residents. People are struggling with 40% inflation, job losses, and their existing essential needs. People maintain their yards with much lower price than the proposed HOA assessment and it does not make sense to pay higher prices for a lower service.
